Big Things Planned For Party Favor This Summer

Last summer, I attended my first electronic music festival ever — Moonrise Festival at Pemlico Race Track in Baltimore, MD. I still remember leaving Porter Robinson’s set early because there was no way I was going to miss even a second of Party Favor closing out the Celestial Garden stage. He was the last artist to play the smallest stage of the festival, and he was up against three of the biggest names on the lineup: The Glitch Mob, Zeds Dead, and Above & Beyond. There had to be less than 400 people at his set, but it will stand out in my memory as one of the most energetic live performances I’ve ever seen. That fall, I made my way to Webster Hall to catch his co-headlining tour with Brillz, “Twonk di Nation” and was wowed once again.

Meaux Green & Party Favor—Twerking for a Living

The burgeoning scene of twerk music is seeing a few artists become leaders of the pack. Las Vegas-based Meaux Green and Los Angeles’ Party Favor (Dylan Ragland) are two of the genre’s most recognizable names, putting out a commendable amount of work in a short period of time. While Meaux has collaborated with Tropkillaz, released on Mad Decent, and done an official remix for Riff Raff, Party Favor has done a Diplo & Friends mix and recently released the video to his Mad Decent release “Bap U,” guest starring Diplo, ETC!ETC! and Ookay.

On the heels of wrapping up their Twerk Circus tour, Party Favor and Meaux Green took a few minutes to chat with us not about music… but about their blossoming bromance. That’s right, the two are not just collaborators—on popular songs like their remix of Flosstradamus’ “Mosh Pit”—they’re also best buds. Read on about their struggle cuddles, how they met, and why they love each other so much.

Your EDM Premiere: Party Favor Joins Forces With Diplo & Others For Bap U Music Video

The official music video for Party Favor’s single “Bap U” follows the adventures of the Bap Squad and their battles against “acts of douchebaggery”. The Bap Squad consists of Party Favor, Diplo, Ookay, and Brillz, all well known and impactful trap producers. The video starts off with a comic book intro akin to superheroes like Batman or Spiderman. Dawning their matching uniforms, the Bap Squad roll out on their tricked out Tricycles into Los Angeles. Using their trusted oversized inflatable mallets the Bap Squad stop everyone from perverted workers to a girl trying to take an obnoxious selfie. The Bap Squad are also a helping hand as they fix up Seth Green’s car while a small vip of the original “Bap U” plays. Next on their hit lists is a dude who double parked his car in a handicap parking space. They also help catch a girl’s fallen ice cream and share a completely platonic milkshake while TJR screams off into his phone but not before quickly getting his bap infused justice. As the sun sets and the clubs open, nothing is quite as frustrating as the bouncer who won’t let anyone but the richest in, but have no fear the Bap Squad has you covered. Knocking over the bouncer and kick down the gates, the club quickly fills for an epic night but not before the Bap Squad take out one more person, a sleazy bar crawler hitting on random girls. This is one of the most fun and interesting music videos of the year and its behind the scenes are really worth watching to see how much effort went into it.

Getting To Know Party Favor, New Tunes & More {INTERVIEW}

It’s not hard to see why Party Favor is one of the most explosive rising artists in electronic music when you see him spin. This past Saturday at Insomniac’s Beyond Wonderland in Mountain View, California, a fairly small crowd at the start developed after 30 minutes into a packed madhouse after he took over the decks (thus verifying the stage name, Madhatter). After his set, we had a chance to talk to Dylan (Party Favor) about his whirlwind year and all the bass.

If you remember about a year ago, Party Favor was the guy who remixed Bro Safari’s “Drama” and subsequently won that competition, the only one he’s ever entered. Since about that time, his tunes have been featured on ESPN and more with a number of viral remixes. Now, he’s moving the ball down the field with more thrust since Mad Decent picked him up and he’s throwing down fire like his latest tune “Bap U” (OUT NOW, get it HERE for free).

Premiere: Watch Party Favor's "Sweat" Video f/ Toy Connor

A few weeks back, Party Favor shared "Sweat," an electro bounce cut laced with enough energy for millions across the globe to get down to. Which is perfect, as that's exactly what this Los Angeles-based DJ/producer has been up to over the last year. Along with being featured at Electric Daisy Carnival in Las Vegas this past summer, Party Favor recently finished up a tour in Australia, with plans to hit the road again very soon. So yeah, this dude gets around.

Today, Complex premieres the music video for "Sweat," which appropriately captures the rowdy aesthetic of the song. Party Favor makes a short appearance at the beginning of the video, before giving collaborator Toy Connor the reigns, and she absolutely owns the limelight with her sass and style. We're not liable if someone decides to pop a handstand to this wonderful Scott Slone-directed video. So just in case, you've been forewarned.

"Sweat" is available for purchase on iTunes through Bombsquad. Be on the lookout for Party Favor's next single "Bap U" in the coming weeks, which will be released through Diplo's Mad Decent imprint. A preview for this electro rump shaker can be heard here. To keep up with all things Party Favor, visit his Facebook page and follow him on Twitter.

Party Favor talks music, quokkas, and that one time a fan humped a subwoofer box [TMN Exclusive Interview]

When it comes to booty music, we tend to find the kind of artists that make us want to go from a modest person out in public to a shameless person twerking dat ass like we were blessed by Miley Cyrus herself. A few weeks ago, we had a few moments to chat with one such artist that makes us do all of the above. Los Angeles based producer, Party Favor, encompasses everything that our young dance music culture embraces – literally. Not only does he have show-goers humping the shit out of subwoofers during sets (continue reading), but he continues to craft and develop his music/brand in which they collectively help draw in listeners from all over. With so much hype tied around trap and bass music, Party Favor shares with us his 6 year long journey of how he went from the typical mash-up DJ to a bedroom producer, all the way to performing with the big dogs at EDC this year. This touching interview will leave you inspired, excited, but most importantly, it will make you utilize your Google search bar more than ever before. Enjoy ninjas!

PARTY FAVOR’s BIG ADVENTURE: After Garnering Support From Diplo, Skrillex & the NBA, Party Favor Excels in the Festival Circuit [Your EDM Interview]

Party Favor, the titan of LA’s twerk scene, has seen promoters clambering to book his energetic and bottom heavy bass sets from coast to coast over the last year. After winning the ThisSongIsSick.com X Bro Safari X UFO! remix contest last summer, the producer/DJ double threat has been riding a roller coaster upward through the clouds with no sign of plummeting anytime soon. As his career pushes forward at a break neck speed across the rails of the EDM arena, his original productions and remixes have caught the ears of bass music’s mega-stars Skrillex and Diplo, as well as being called up to be featured in ESPN‘s official commercial for the NBA draft. All of this has culminated in reaching 100k Facebook fans just hours before his debut Electric Daisy Carnival performance in Las Vegas and being invited to play at Tommorrow World‘s sophomore event later this fall. Your EDM was able to catch
